I found my voice and love of music early in my life. I played the piano and the organ for several years, but soon discovered my true passion was vocal performance.
As a 13 year old eighth grader I was selected to sing a duet in front of my elementary school student body.
The song was "Where Is Love?" from the Broadway musical Oliver! This was the beginning of my lifelong love of Broadway.
While in high school I was cast in Hello, Dolly! (Dolly), Kiss Me, Kate, and Brigadoon (Meg).
Life and its responsibilities including raising my children, Nicholas 32 and Heather 30 put my singing aspirations on hold.
I became, instead a hard and fast "fan and spectator" of all things sports. Nick and Heather are outstanding athletes, and both played college basketball.
Nick played two years at Wenatchee Valley College and Heather at the University of Portland and Cal-Poly Pomona where she earned a National Championship title and ring!
In the fall of 1998 once both kids graduated from high school I took the necessary steps to complete my college education.
While pursuing pre-requisites for a dental hygiene degree, with my head reeling from too much math and science, I joined the Columbia Chorale in Wenatchee.
School became much more tolerable once my creative juices began flowing, and my passion for vocal performance was once again ignited.
A move to Albuquerque after graduating from OHSU in 2003 gave me the opportunity to sing with the Albuquerque Civic Chorus.
I moved back to the NW in 2006 to be closer to my grandsons, and my New Mexico choir was invited to sing at Carnegie Hall several months later, and they did sing in New York...without me.
My beloved father lost his battle with cancer in January 2009. I "found" Touch of Class that September, and began a much needed healing process.
I tremendously enjoy the belonging I feel with this talented, committed, and fun group!
