Tony Bump has been active in the Portland/Vancouver area
doing theater and music for the past 30 years. He was a vocal student of the
Touch of Class founder, Orrell Peru, and won the Washington state Tenor solo
competition for High School in 1983, under the tutelage of Mr. Peru. Since
then he has musical and stage directed as well as performed in many musicals
and shows for The Slocum House Theater, Blue Parrot Theater, Lakewood Theater,
and Peanut Gallery to name a few. He sang with Portland Opera in a world premier
concert at The Carnegie Hall in New York City. Tony has conducted choral ensembles
such as the choir at Lady of Lourdes Parish Vancouver WA, Choral Riff of Portland,
OR, Choral Blue of Vancouver WA and The Metro Arts Ensemble of Vancouver WA.
At the Keller auditorium he performed featured roles with San Jose Light Opera
in productions of
"Me and My Girl" and
"Pacific Overtures".
Tony loves composing music and writing plays and is starting to produce his
works, he is also an avid choral arranger. Tony is excited to be the new director
of
Touch
of Class and hopes to conduct many concerts with us.
