I grew up in the Chicago area and have a degree in theatre from Indiana University as well as a Master's in English, plus an extra major in mathematics. While I've had numerous roles in dramatic productions at IU and in community theatre, it's ironic that any role I had in a musical was always a non-singing role; I never tried out for a singing role because I didn't know I could sing. Only after I retired from teaching (30 years in Tucson, AZ, drama and mathematics) did I start joining community choirs. At the encouragement of a long time member of Touch of Class, I joined the choir eleven years ago.
